Type data   Holotype (lv: H 9.0 mm, L 9.1 mm) Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris (MNHN). Type locality: NE Atlantic, Plato Bank, 33*12.60'N, 29*17.20'E, 1500 m, dead (SEAMOUNT 2 stn DW 250).

  Shell small up to ca. 15 mm high, fragile, semi-transparent to opaque, circular, inequivalve, equilateral, auricles unequal in size and shape, umbonal angle ca. 110 degrees, colour whitish.

  Left valve sculptured with regularly spaced commarginal lamellae and delicate radial lines. Anterior auricle with coarse commarginal lamellae, finer on posterior auricle. Right valve with closely spaced, commarginal lirae. Byssal notch moderately deep, byssal fasciole rather broad. Internal riblets lacking.
