Type data   Figured holotype (pr: H 9.1 mm, L 11.6 mm, D 1.4 mm) Los Angeles County Museum, Los Angeles (LACM 1884). Type locality: NE Pacific, Oregon, W of Astoria, 45*52.7'N, 126*29.4'W, 2650 m, alive, ii.1971 (Oregon State University stn BMT 260).

  Shell up to ca. 10 mm high, very fragile, semi-transparent, micaceous, very weakly inflated, left valve weakly convex, right valve flatter, semi-circular, longer than high, inequivalve, equilateral, auricles nearly equal in size, unequal in shape and very small, internal ribs lacking, umbonal angle ca. 110 degrees.

  Left valve with irregularly spaced commarginal lamellae and minute radial lirae. Right valve with closely spaced, delicate commarginal lirae. Posterior auricles and anterior auricle of left valve continous with disc, anterior auricle of right valve demarcated from disc. Byssal notch shallow, byssal faciole and ctenolium lacking.
