Type data   Holotype (pr: H 6.1 mm, L 6.8 mm, D 1.2 mm) Museum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris (MNHN). Type locality: South of New Caledonia, 23*05'S, 167*44'E, 680-700 m, alive (BIOCAL st DW 51).
Description

  Shell small up to ca. 6 mm high, very fragile, transparent, very weakly inflated, nearly circular, left valve slightly more convex than right valve, inequivalve, equilateral, auricles nearly equal in size, umbonal angle ca. 125 degrees.

  Left valve sculptured (also on auricles) with regularly spaced, curved commarginal lamellae. Umbonal region smooth and glossy. Right valve with regularly narrow spaced, delicate commarginal lirae. Posterior auricles continuous with disc. Byssal notch relatively deep, byssal fasciole narrow. Internal riblets lacking. Marginal apron of both valves broken off.
