Type data   Holotype (pr: H 18.4 mm, L 19.8 mm, D 3.6 mm) Los Angeles County Museum, Los Angeles (LACM 1882). Type locality: NE Pacific, Oregon, W of Yaquina Head, 45*17.4'N, 125*49.0'W, 2605 m, alive, iii.1970 (Oregon State University stn BMT 191).

  Shell up to ca. 20 mm high, very fragile, semi-transparent, very weakly inflated, left valve weakly convex, right valve flat, circular, inequivalve, equilateral, auricles nearly equal in size, unequal in shape, colour whitish, internal ribs lacking, umbonal angle ca. 110 degrees.

  Both valves commarginally undulated and minute radial lirae, right valve with more numerous but narrower undulations than left valve. Auricles continuous with disc, anterior auricle of right valve demarcated from shell disc. Byssal notch shallow, byssal faciole and ctenolium lacking.
