Type data   Holotype (H 4.6 mm, L 4.9 mm, D 1.6 mm) Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle (MNHN 20448). Type locality: Solomon Islands, 08*20'S, 160*39'E, 453-542 m, alive, N.O. "Alis", col. Bouchet, Dayrat, Warén & Richer de Forges, 28.ix.2001 (SALOMON 1 stn DW 1770).
Description

  Shell up to ca. 5 mm high, fragile, semi-transparent, weakly inflated, subcircular, inequivalve and equilateral, left valve slightly more convex than right valve, auricles dissimilar in shape, anterior auricle considerable larger than posterior one, umbonal angle ca. 110 degrees, whitish with brownish maculations.

  Left valve with coarse reticulate sculpture to central part of disc and finer and weaker in late growth stage to ventral margin. Right valve with commarginal lirae. Internal ribs 8 plus 2 rudimentary. Byssal notch shallow, byssal fasciole lacking.
