Type data   Holotype (pr: H 24 mm, L 20.1 mm, D 7 mm) Zoological Museum, University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam (ZMA Moll. 3.88.046). Type locality: Philippines, Cebu, Mactan Island, Magellan Bay, off Punta Engano, 110 m, alive, tangle-net fishing, Jan. 1987.

  Shell up to ca. 30 mm high, weakly inflated, oblong, nearly equivalve, inequilateral, auricles strongly unequal, umbonal angle ca. 85-90 degrees, colour creamy brown, brownish and whitish spots, right valve paler.

  Both valves sculptured with numerous, closely spaced radial ribs. Auricles radially sculptured with ca. 10-12 riblets. Byssal notch moderately deep, byssal fasciole narrow. Functional ctenolium on suture (4-6 teeth).
