  Syntypes (numerous valves) in Museum fźr Naturkunde, Humboldt-UniversitŠt, Berlin (ZMB/Moll-78437, ZMB/Moll-111640). Type locality not specified: W Sumatra, near Siberut Island, 0*39'2"S, 98*52'3"E, 750 m ("Valdivia" stn 191); E Africa, 1*40'6"S, 41*47'1"E, 693 m ("Valdivia" stn 251).


  Shell up to ca. 4 mm high, fragile, semi-transparent, subcircular, weakly inflated, nearly equally convex, inequivalve, equilateral, auricles equal in size, unequal in shape, internal ribs lacking, umbonal angle ca. 90 degrees, colour whitish.

  Left valve with widely spaced commarginal lamellae and irregularly spaced

intermediate radial riblets. Central part of disc reticulated, near margin smooth. Auricles similar sculptured as disc.

  Right valve with closely spaced commarginal lirae. Anterior auricle of right valve demarcated and sculptured with commarginal lamellae.

Byssal notch shallow, byssal fasciole and ctenolium lacking.

Habitat  Probably living bathyally on soft bottom assemblages.
