Propeamussiidae Cyclochlamydidae Pectinidae
(glass-scallops) (micro-scallops) (macro-scallops)
My research mainly concerns studies on the nomenclature, taxonomy and zoogeography of the worldwide living scallops (Mollusca: Bivalvia: Pectinoidea). A major focus of my research has been to determine the identity and relationships of bathyal pectinoideans, particularly those sampled by French cruises to the tropical Indo-Pacific.
Carolus Linnaeus (1707-1778) Jean-Baptiste Lamarck (1744-1829) Ignaz von Born (1742-1791) Georg Wolfgang Knorr (1705-1761)
Second interest is in historical malacology, which resulted in publications on type material described by Linnaeus (1758-1771), Lamarck (1819) and Born (1778-1780), and the five editions of Knorr's "Vergnügen der Augen..." (1757-1792).
